For the next interview of our Meet the Team Series, please meet Kyckr's CEO, Ian Henderson.
What do you do at Kyckr?
CEO, responsible for setting the strategic direction of the business, building the team to deliver the strategy and making sure the resources are in place and effectively invested to maximise value for all stakeholders.
What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid?
A rock star! Sadly, I was deluded. I didn't have a musical bone in my body.
What's the most exciting part of your day to day work?
Watching the Kyckr business and the people in it develop and grow at pace.
What do you feel makes Kyckr different from other companies you’ve worked at?
The Team. We are building out a very strong group, which is successfully delivering services that are increasingly in demand from our clients and prospects.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Broad interests in sport, especially football and ice hockey and the arts. Music, theatre, movies.
Who inspires you the most? Why?
My mother, a single parent at a time when it was uncommon. Of modest means, she ensured we had a fun childhood, were all grounded with a clear sense of purpose, and gave us all the freedom to grow and fulfil our potential.
What’s your favourite movie of all time?
Diva, the 1981 debut by French director Jean-Jacques Beineix. A complex thriller beautifully realised.
If you could visit any city in the world, where would it be? Why?
Quebec City, for the stunning location, the French - North America juxtaposition, and the history.
If you could have lunch with any person, who would it be? Why?
Mark E Smith, the cantankerous lead singer of Manchester post-punk band, The Fall, who sadly passed away in 2018, after a life well-lived.
